Video Conference

A group of year 6 children at Parkhill and have been writing a story "with a twist" for their audience of year 2 children at Gearies Infants.

The Parkhill children began this work by surfing the net and reading their favourite fairy stories and traditional tales. The group discussed how they could write an alternative version to a story by making changes to the characters and settings.

Each of the Parkhill children picked a different traditional tale. The group met once a week for half an hour, using the computers to draft a version of their own story.
After four sessions the stories were complete and a video conference link was arranged with Gearies Infants. The first two Parkhill children read their stories on Tuesday 25th November to class P.
Class P asked lots of questions about the work. They had some wonderful ideas of their own and offered other suggestions to the outcome of the stories.
The two stories read by the Parkhill children were:-
Cinderella and the Three little Wolves.
